It Matters Who Leads!

About Mark
My wife and I have been deeply rooted in Morgan Hill for decades. We’ve raised our three daughters here, all proud graduates of the Morgan Hill Unified School District. Our oldest graduated from Live Oak High School, and our twins from Sobrato. This community has shaped our family in countless ways, and we’ve always believed in giving back to the place that has given us so much. We want every resident to feel that same sense of connection, to know they belong, to feel empowered to contribute, and to believe in the promise of Morgan Hill’s future.

Serving as Mayor of Morgan Hill is more than a title to me, it’s a responsibility I carry with deep pride and unwavering commitment. My journey, from leading a regional business organization to chairing the Silicon Valley Chamber Coalition, has taught me the power of listening, the importance of collaboration, and the courage it takes to lead through complexity. These aren’t just skills, they’re values I live by.

I believe that to truly serve Morgan Hill, we must look beyond our borders. That’s why I work hand-in-hand with fellow mayors and council members across Santa Clara County, and maintain strong, respectful relationships with our state and federal representatives. These connections aren’t just political, they’re personal. They’re built on trust, shared purpose, and a collective desire to see our community thrive.

Every meeting, every board I serve on, every conversation I have, it’s all driven by one goal: to ensure Morgan Hill’s voice is heard, its needs are met, and its future is bright. I show up prepared, professional, and ready to advocate for the people and the place I love.

Non-Profits and Volunteerism

Giving back to our community through volunteerism and non-profit support is an important value. Non-profit organizations foster civic engagement, can drive economic growth, and strengthen the fabric of our community.

According to the TaxExemptWorld, an online organization that tracks non-profit organizations, there are more than 400 non-profit and 501c organizations in Morgan Hill representing various interests including church and school organizations.

Morgan Hill’s non-profit organizations play a critical part in our community’s ability to serve those in need; rescue animals; provide youth sports; assist with school efforts; provide food, clothing, and school supplies; just to mention a few. I will continue to financially support local non-profits and volunteer time to help wherever I can.

Over the last 2 years as Mayor, I have helped raise more than $500,000 for the following non-profit organizations while volunteering more than 200 hours at various non-profit events.

  • Operation Freedom Paws
  • The Morgan Hill Community Foundation
